1. Let’s start off with this lovely response by Pat Forde to all of the nonsense about Notre Dame that Rick Reilly and Allen Pinkett have been contributing.
2. And now, for a brief moment, I’m on my soapbox. I am primarily a fan of college football, though I have been a Packers fan for a few years. One of the reasons that I love NCAA football, though, is that it is about more than just the football. Football, especially at Notre Dame, is just one part of the community.
That is the main reason it is so very sad that programs everywhere are breaking academic and ethical rules. College isn’t about football, not when it’s done right.
3. I have really had the chance to catch up with friends the last few weeks. I am really glad for the phone calls and Gchats. I’m really looking forward to staying in touch better. Hence the recent uptick in blogging..
4. Speaking of catching up with friends, I got to chat with my friend Kat who is getting married next summer, and she showed me what my bridesmaid dress is going to look like. It’s exactly what I was hoping it would be. She is a lovely lady with classic taste and I am so excited for her wedding. 🙂
5. I have joined the world of smart phone users and I have been playing around with Instagram. I am greennotebook there, if anyone wants to follow me and check out what I had for breakfast this morning.
6. My entire immediate family will be watching the Notre Dame / Navy game with our respective ND Clubs. This will take a grand total of three clubs in two time zones, but we’re all very excited for breakfast in bars. It’ll be a fun experience.
7. And ah, yes. Less than 22 hours until Notre Dame football. GO IRISH!
